Design Experience:

Jobs: Materials Selection, mood/materials boards, drawing CAD plans, site visits/surveys, client meetings Clients: Pret A Manger, Virgin Atlantic, International Coffee Organisation, First Great Western Mynt Design: May 2014 Junior Retail Designer I was with Mynt Design for 4 weeks for a placement as a Junior Retail Designer. Jobs: Photoshop Visuals, CAD plans, designing POS displays Clients: Umbro, Borders, Lacoste, National Space Centre Live Projects: The Showroom: Nov 2014 - Jan 2015 This was my first Graduation project to redesign the bar and restaurant area within the Showroom, an independent cinema in Sheffield. There was a very small budget and lots of requirements which made this a challenging but rewarding project. My design utilised the space, adding extra covers to the space to accomodate to a range of users. I designed a bespoke back bar and partition wall to display the new cocktail menu and drinks. Sheffield Children's Hospital: 2013 This was a 2nd year project working with Sheffield's Childrens Hospital to design either the play room in their new to be built in-patient ward. It was a challenging project as with hospital design there are of course a lot of health and safety issues to think about and even more so when designing for a wide age range of children. The project lasted 4 weeks with a visit to the existing hospital, meetings with the architect and an interim and final pitch. I really enjoyed the live project and strived to develop a good design that I was proud and excited to present. Spencers Estate Agents: 2012 This was a group project at the start of our second year. We had to work in a small group to redesign and rebrand the estate agents, Spencers. The project lasted two weeks within which we had a site visit, a meeting with a local interior designer and two pitches. I really enjoyed working in a group on this short task, coming up with a concept and presenting our ideas to the client. Our group won “Best Design for Us” Award and some aspects of our design will be used in the rebrand and new office. |
